SEMESTER 2 2021
5-6W have shown amazing resilience in Semester 2, adjusting to both remote learning and a brand-new teacher with impressive skill! Our class has been meeting daily at 9:15 am on Zoom to discuss the day’s work and any important messages. We have also had an optional daily Q&A at 12pm which many students have utilised for support with learning and as an opportunity to socialise with their peers.
Each week, students have been assigned a selection of daily lessons incorporating literacy and numeracy skills. Additional lessons set in all other key learning areas such as science, geography, drama and music, have engaged students in both group and individual learning tasks and students have incorporated these activities into their daily schedules to the best of their ability.
Students have been using Google classroom to complete and submit their lessons, developing their self-management skills and using a range of technologies including Scratch visual programming, Chrome music lab and Inquisitive e-books.
It has been a joy to get to know each member of 5-6W and to see the positive attitudes to learning and quality work samples each student has contributed during remote learning.
We look forward to continuing to learn and challenge ourselves in Term 4 as we return to face to face schooling and engage in lively discussions, hands-on activities, experiments, group work and creative projects. But most of all, we look forward to reuniting with our friends and teachers and celebrating our amazing accomplishments together.

We choose to recognise the Wangal People of the Eora Nation as the true owners of the land on which we stand: of the sky above and of the water that surrounds us. We thank the Elders, both of the past and the present, who are the traditional custodians of this country and we promise to care for the land and respect it as they have done. As we play and learn together, we extend that respect to all Aboriginal people here today.
