SEMESTER 2 2021
3/4R have been busy this year! Miss Rose is constantly amazed by how far we have come and the level of determination and enthusiasm we show towards new challenges and concepts. This has certainly been taken to new levels during remote learning! We have enjoyed many wonderful experiences both at school and learning from home. 3/4R have gained lots of knowledge in our core subjects and much more.
During remote learning, we have been very busy working over Google Classroom and having meetings on Zoom. We have designed new Olympic Sports for Brisbane 2032, and even persuaded our parents to let us have a pet tarantula in our persuasive writing lessons! In Maths, we have learnt about space, measurement, and number. Miss Rose has received many photos of amazing work that demonstrates how innovative we all are! Our reading lessons are focused on a novel study on the book ‘Nim’s Island’ and 3/4R have really enjoyed ‘Going Troppo’, dressing up as tourists on Zoom.
Our Science topics, “A Material World” and “Space Invaders” have given us a chance to understand different materials, their capacity to biodegrade and how living things cope with a changing landscape. In geography, we are learning about the earth’s environment and we are concentrating on Madagascar and Africa. The students are understanding how humans can impact the landscape over time.
It has been an interesting Semester 2, but zoom has let us see each other virtually every day. We cannot wait to be back in class where we can debate topics, listen to others, and most importantly, see everyone's happy faces in real life! What an amazing year we have had so far!

We choose to recognise the Wangal People of the Eora Nation as the true owners of the land on which we stand: of the sky above and of the water that surrounds us. We thank the Elders, both of the past and the present, who are the traditional custodians of this country and we promise to care for the land and respect it as they have done. As we play and learn together, we extend that respect to all Aboriginal people here today.
