English as an additional language

The EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) program at Abbotsford Public School is tailored to provide support to newly arrived students in Australia who are beginning to learn English. It also provides support to Australian born students from non-English speaking backgrounds who require specific assistance in accessing the content of the Australian curriculum.

The students are closely monitored and their needs are assessed through the EAL/D specialist teacher and the school's learning support team.
